Welcome to Class 1/2HH (Year 1/2)
Welcome back! There are 30 pupils in Class 1/2HH this year! I, Miss Haswell, am the Year 1/2 class teacher and Mrs Malakar is our Teaching Assistant. We support the children in their learning every day.

Routines in Class
PE –Please make sure your PE kit is in school all the time. We will send this home half termly.
Homework – homework has been set up for this half term in a book. Children should complete 1 Maths and 1 English homework a week. Homework books are given back on Fridays and should be returned on Wednesdays.
Spellings; spelling for the half term has been stuck into children’s homework books. They should learn one set each week. Spellings are reviewed with the children in class every Friday.
Reading Books – your child has been assigned a day to change their book. Please check the label attached to the front of their plastic wallet. Each child will be given one book to read each week, please use the reading book marks to ask questions to your child when they read the book. It is important to read the book a few times to build up fluency, pace and to make sure your child has fully understood what happens in the story.

Today we are exploring different textures by adding materials to one of Van Gogh’s famous paintings! 🎨
Yesterday we were introduced to our new text for our English lessons. @SivillsMiss put on a great performance with some children to tell the story of ‘The Twelfth Night’ by William Shakespeare. We can’t wait to start writing!!! @UbClass
We had a great visit to the library this morning! We searched through the books and had a read of some we had never seen before. We then read a story as a class. We have borrowed 5 books which we are going to read next week. Keep your eyes peeled to see which books we chose📚👀📖
